Policy and Regulations

The Eastern Polytechnic Council is the sole Employing body for all categories of staff of the institution. They are all governed by the Rules and Regulations for all Polytechnics in Sierra Leone.

Attendance

Lecturers are expected to work for nine Teaching hours per day, Monday to Friday inclusive and contribute to the upgrading of academic activities in the Polytechnic.

Regular attendance at all classes by the students is essential and all students must notify the lecturer of the reasons for any absence. Irregular attendance on the part of the student may lead to suspension from lectures. All students must be seated in the classroom before the scheduled time of class.

Sponsorship

The institution is fee-paying like all other tertiary institutions in Sierra Leone. All students are expected to make arrangements for payment of their fees. All fees are payable in advance and are subjected to revision. The fees quoted in the admission letter for full-time courses apply to sierra Leonean citizens only. Non-citizens will be charged a full economic fee for a full-time course and payments must be made in foreign currency.

Conduct

Both staff and students are expected to comply with the rules and regulations issued by the Academic Board. All students are expected to conduct themselves sensibly and with decorum. Any act of indiscipline within and outside the campus will be reported to the authority for disciplinary action.

Damage to Property

Willful damage to property or equipment or any damage or loss arising from neglect will be treated as an act of indiscipline and the staff or student(s) concerned will be held responsible for the cost of repair or replacement.

Identity Cards

The Polytechnic identity card will be issued to every staff and student. They are usually for the entire duration of the programme for which the student registers and three years in the case of staff. The cards are issued for a fee.
